Employee Screening Process
Each and every caregiver is subject to an in-depth background screening process which goes above and beyond industry standards to ensure only the best caregivers work here:
- Background Criminal Investigation (BCI) checks are completed by Middletown, Rhode Island Police Department and the RI Attorney General’s office.
- Motor Vehicle Records check which displays license validity, restrictions and driving record history for the past 3 years.
- Rhode Island Department of Health verification of licenses of health professionals and record of complaints submitted (RN and CNA).
- Employment verification

- Proof of Personal Automobile Insurance

Learning comes in many forms at All About Home Care. We start each employee with an extensive orientation that includes an introduction to our company, its’ policies and procedures and our Home Health Services. Our Homemakers are Certified before they begin work in the community. This certification involves classroom training as well as practical experience covering a wide range of topics. All About Home Care offers ongoing In-Services where staff can learn through a live seminar, self study courses with handouts or watch videos to gain additional training that fits their learning style. In-Service Education may include the following:

Registered Nurses and staff attend conferences throughout the year covering topics of interest and relevant information. Recent classes attended include Ethical Considerations for Withholding Nutrition and Hydration and Institute for Brain Potential Seminar.
In-Home Orientation, Supervision and Visits
All About Home Care provides an introduction and on-site training for all caregivers that start with a new client. The state of Rhode Island requires that a Registered Nurse visit our clients and have a face-to-face supervision with our caregivers at a minimum, every 60 days. Our nurses look forward to this opportunity to observe and meet with the caregivers and touch base with the clients. Typically the nurses visit more frequently and are in close contact with the families to make certain communication is open and all information is being shared.
Insurance and Protection
All persons working for All About Home Care are employees, not subcontracted staff. Our staff is covered by Workers Compensation insurance and General and Professional Liability insurance. All staff is bonded and we carry Automobile Liability insurance for staff driving a client in their car or the staff driving their client’s car.
All About Home Care has office hours Monday through Friday from 8am to 5pm. When the office is closed an On-Call system is in place to handle all schedule changes, inquires and emergency situations. An employee of All About Home Care answers all calls from 5pm to 8am and on weekends using a designated On-Call phone line.
Our telephony service automatically documents when our caregivers arrive and depart from their client’s homes. It’s an easy way to record “instant timecards” and document accurate arrival and departure times.
How does it work? Your caregivers just call a toll-free number to check in and out for each visit. We are able to track the calls, compare the calls against the scheduled shifts and check the caller ID to match the client’s home telephone number. It’s simple and reliable. Avoid no-shows! If a caregiver is overdue for a visit, we receive an email or text message to alert us in real time. This allows us to call the caregiver or find a substitute before it’s too late.
